Thanks for visiting my site. I  have  been working in the fitness and personal training profession for over 19 years.  Before I opened Functional Fitness in 2008, I was a personal trainer working in San Francisco, California.   During this time I began to develop back and shoulder pain. I tried many different methods including massage, chiropractors and physical therapists etc. These seemed to help for a bit but my pain always came back. A colleague of mine introduced me to the Egoscue Method  which is the world leader in non-medical pain relief .

 During these sessions I learned that treating the symptom would not  stop the problem. I was taught that I had to treat the body as a whole and  not just focus on where it hurt. This was a game changer for me and I pursued my certification with the Egoscue University to become a Postural Alignment Therapist in 2004. 

In January of 2008  I opened Functional Fitness, a personal training studio which  focuses on postural therapy to help clients become pain free and move without limitations. Over the past 11 years I have been fortunate to work with many different people of all ages and fitness levels to relieve chronic pain and move and feel better. I believe the foundation to good  health begins with having good posture and being free of chronic pain.
