Thanks for visiting my site. I have been working in the fitness and personal training profession for over 23 years. Before I opened Functional Fitness in 2008, I was a personal trainer working in a gym in San Francisco, California. During this time I began to develop back and shoulder pain. I tried many different methods including massage, chiropractors and physical therapists etc. These seemed to help for a bit but my pain always came back. A colleague of mine introduced me to the Egoscue Method which is the world leader in non-medical pain relief.
During these sessions I learned that treating the symptom would not stop the problem. I was taught that I had to treat the body as a whole and not just focus on where it hurt. This was a game changer for me and I pursued my certification with the Egoscue University to become a Postural Alignment Therapist
In January of 2008 I opened Functional Fitness, in Meredith, NH. The studio focused
on postural therapy to help clients become pain free and move without limitations. Over the past 16 years I have been fortunate to work with many different people of all ages and fitness levels to relieve chronic pain and move and feel better. In 2020 I moved my studio to Plymouth NH and continue to work both virtually and in person at my studio. I am also a PTX concierge therapist with www.ptxtherapy.com where I work with clients all over the world be pain free and free of movement limitations. I believe the foundation to good health begins with having good posture and being free of chronic pain.
